Welcome to the first FineSoccer Kids Newsletter. The main purpose of this first issue is to start a discussion of where this newsletter will go.

First I would like to thank everyone for subscribing. This newsletter was created at the request of some of the subscribers to the other FineSoccer Newsletters. A few wrote to me and mentioned that most of the articles were being written for coaches and parents and not enough of an emphasis was being given to the players. I didn't have to give this a whole lot of though before I realized this was true. The reason I am letting you know this is because I have NO IDEA the direction that this newsletter will go. I am hoping that this newsletter becomes very different then the others I write. I don't want to write about the subjects I consider important but rather, I want to write about what YOU think is important. For this reason, I am creating a new email address just for the FineSoccer Kids newsletter. If there is a subject you want to see discussed (or a subject that you want to discuss) please send me the ideas to kidscomments@finesoccer.com. This will keep your ideas separate from all other comments I receive.

How often will this newsletter get sent out? Again, that will depend on you. If you wait for me to come up with ideas to write about then you will receive a newsletter every few weeks. If you contribute ideas and suggestions, it can come as often as once a week. It really comes down to what you want. The next newsletter will be sent out in two weeks and the subject will deal with……..whatever you want.

As I mentioned in my other newsletters, this newsletter will also start the new glossary at FineSoccer.com. The reason for this glossary is that frequently, soccer people use words and expressions that players and parents don't understand (the thing you don't know is that many coaches don't know these terms either). I have started this glossary but it is in no way complete. The only way I will know what words and terms you don't understand is if you tell me. Check out the list and if there are any other words you don't know, just let me know and I will include them (with a definition). If there are some words that you do know but that you also think should be included, send me both the words and your definition and I will include both. In other words, this wont be my glossary but rather, our glossary. I have included a link from http://finesoccer.com so at any time you will have access to the glossary. Please let me know what else you want to go with this newsletter. Do you want a separate forum so you can ask questions and help others? If enough want it, I will create it for you. Do you want a separate survey that applies more to kids issues? Again ask and you shall receive (if possible).
